Praveen Rajan is a passionate artist and model who believes deeply in the transformative power of art and education. With a background in Graphic Design and over 20 years of figure drawing experience, Praveen has honed his skills across charcoal, watercolor, acrylics, ink, and markers. He has seen first-hand how learning art can empower individuals and communities – a conviction shaped by his upbringing split between Kerala, India and the bustling art scene of New York City, where museum trips in his youth sparked a lifelong creative journey. Praveen is dedicated to sharing knowledge and inspiring others to reach their artistic potential.

At the retreat, Praveen will be serving as a figure drawing model (in full costume!). Drawing on his love for dramatic comic book heroes like Hellboy and Batman, he brings a flair for the theatrical to his poses. Expect him to incorporate props and even faux weapons to create dynamic, story-rich scenes for artists to draw. Praveen’s goal is to ignite your imagination – when you sketch him, you won’t just be drawing a model, you’ll be sketching a character in action.

Praveen is often described as a tall, dark, and expressive model who is at once patient and highly engaging. His professional yet friendly demeanor means that both beginners and seasoned artists will feel at ease during his sessions. When you attend his figure drawing session, you’ll likely come away with striking sketches and a deeper understanding of human anatomy and form.
